Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii

Gideon Toeplitz will be the interim president for the Honolulu Symphony. Toeplitz is a vice president of the Arts Consulting Group and has more than 30 years of experience in the performing arts field.

Calvin K. Kang has been hired as vice president and business banking officer of the business banking department for Central Pacific Bank. Kang has 20 years of experience in Hawaii’s financial services industry.

Cedric I. Yamanaka has been hired as assistant vice president and communications and publications officer for Central Pacific Bank. He previously worked as the media relations specialist at Kuakini Health System.

Sean Gano has been promoted to marketing executive at Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park. He will serve as the company spokesperson and direct sales and marketing efforts. Gano will handle local area marketing, public relations and website development.

Wes Freiwald has joined the company as vice president of Trex Hawaii and general manager for Trex’s operations on Maui. He has over 20 years of experience working as a technical manager.

Sean Yano has been promoted to associate partner for Prudential Locations. Yano joined Prudential Locations in March 2003.

Carmen Iao has been promoted to assistant vice president for American Savings Bank. Iao is a financial consultant responsible for providing financial solutions to customers.

Dara Young has joined the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa as public relations manager. She previously was an account supervisor at Communications Pacific handling a variety of accounts.

Tran Phan has joined Hilton Hawaii as regional public relations coordinator. She previously was a marketing coordinator for Media Venture Partners.

Sih-Young Jeon has been promoted to senior associate and shareholder at Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo. He joined the company in 1996.

Craig Takahata has been promoted to associate at Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo. He is a senior designer working on multiple projects in Asia for WATG clients.

Mary Ann Gaylord has been promoted from personal assistant to Realtor associate with Caron B Realty. She is part of the sales team for Caron Broederdorf.

Debbie Needham has been appointed Oahu representative for the Activities & Attractions Association of Hawaii (A3H). She is a 17- year veteran in the tourism industry.

F.M. Scotty Anderson has been named managing director of the sign division of AdWalls. He previously worked as a sales manager at Ferguson Enterprises.

John A. Sutton has been named president of Elyte Pacific Services. Sutton will remain as a member of the advisory board at Starr Seigle Communications.

John Hart has been approved for candidacy on the Fulbright Senior Specialists Roster. Hart is an assistant dean of HPU College of Communication.
