Sumiko Midorikawa

Sumiko Midorikawa has been promoted to regional marketing and public relations manager-Asia for Hilton Hotels. She previously served as the regional sales and marketing coordinator, lending sales and marketing support to the Far East division. She will be responsible for Hilton’s public relations and marketing efforts in Asia, primarily in Japan but also focusing on Korea and China. She will be charged with developing and implementing consumer marketing initiatives, developing and maintaining Japan language Web site, online marketing programs and development of advertising.

Ann H. Chung

Ann H. Chung has been named a board member for the Hawaii Medical Service Association. Chung is director of Economic Development for the City and County of Honolulu.

Brian L. Mau

Brian L. Mau has been promoted from assistant vice president to vice president of the Bank of Hawaii Keeaumoku Branch. Mau joined the Bank of Hawaii in-store branch at Star Market Moiliili in 1997 as a consumer banking representative.

Cathy Hirata

Cathy Hirata has been named senior loan officer with Primary Residential Mortgage in the commercial real estate lending division. Hirata has more than 14 years of experience in commercial real estate lending.

David G. Takahashi

David G. Takahashi has been promoted from assistant vice president to vice president of the Bankoh Investment Services Division. He continues his duties as division sales coordinator, which entail developing sales strategies for brokers and dealers, and analyzing data and sales trends in accordance with corporate goals.

Ed English

Ed English joins Philip K. White and Associates as a project manager. He was previously a project director at Architects Hawaii. He brings more than 30 years of experience in commercial, residential as well as institutional and recreational architecture to the firm.

Gene I. Awakuni has been named a board member for the Hawaii Medical Service Association. Awakuni is chancellor of the University of Hawaii-West Oahu.

Gerard Elmore

Gerard Elmore has been hired as director for Shooters Film Production. Elmore has a range of experience varying from television production, film and commercials.

Holly Matsuda

Holly Matsuda has been promoted from contract administrator of construction operations to air conditioning service department contract administrator for Heide & Cook. She is responsible for overseeing customer contracts and accounting services. Matsuda has a background in public accounting and has served Heide & Cook for seven years.

Jamie Wan-Lopaz

Jamie Wan-Lopaz has been named senior account executive for Pang Commu-nications. She worked previously in public relations for five years in Singapore.

Jerry Vea

Jerry Vea has been hired as a merchant and buyer for City Mill. His career path includes being a store manager at a Woolworth, Orchards Supply and Hardware, and Checkers Auto Parts on the Mainland.

Joyce Timpson has been elected president and chairman of the board of the Kahala Senior Living Community. She is founder and president of Joyce Timpson & Associates.

Kathryn Murata

Kathryn Murata has been promoted to tracking and logistic specialist for Summa Hawaii. She will oversee the procurement system, and tracking purchases. She has 20 years of customer service and coordination experience.

Lance Kurata

Lance Kurata has been promoted from air conditioning service department journeyman to assistant service supervisor for Heide & Cook. He will help the service supervisor provide customers with repair proposals, and assist field technicians with technical support. Kurata has been with the company for 16 years.
