Christopher Messer

Christopher Messer has been promoted to senior associate for RIM Architects Hawaii. As senior associate, he will serve as the firm’s operations manager. Messer has more than 25 years experience in commercial/retail, hospitality, healthcare and industrial projects.

Ron Compton

Ron Compton has been appointed to sustainable programs coordinator for RIM Architects Hawaii. His responsibilities include overseeing all sustainable design strategies as well as ongoing educational sustainable programs. Compton is a LEED accredited professional in the RIM family of companies.

Joseph Echeverri

Joseph Echeverri has been promoted to senior project coordinator for RIM Architects Hawaii. He served previously as project coordinator and has experience working with residential, commercial and community facilities.

Diana Nakamura

Diana Nakamura has been named executive assistant/human resources coordinator for RIM Architects Hawaii. Nakamura will assist the managing principal and senior associate with production and recruitment. She served previously as a senior admin to the COO for Architects Hawaii Ltd.

Bryon Smith

Bryon Smith has been hired as senior project architect for RIM Architects Hawaii. Smith has worldwide experience working with private and government clients on commercial, educational, residential and healthcare facilities in Russia and across the U.S.

Michael Hirai

Michael Hirai has been named a director for Bishop Street Capital Management (BSCM), the investment subsidiary of First Hawaiian Bank. Hirai also is BSCM president and will continue to serve as director of fixed income. He has 24 years’ experience handling both fixed income and equity strategies.

Ken Miller

Ken Millerhas been appointed chief investment officer for Bishop Street Capital Management of First Hawaiian Bank. He was previously senior VP and director of equity. Prior to joining the bank in 2002 Miller was with JP Morgan, where he was twice named a Wall Street Journal all-star analyst.

Terrence Flynn

Terrence Flynn has been hired as senior vice president and portfolio manager for Bishop Street Capital Management of First Hawaiian Bank. Prior to joining First Hawaiian Bank, Flynn was director of business development and client services of Seattle-Northwest Asset Management.

Jennifer Carias

Jennifer Carias has been promoted to senior vice president for Bishop Street Capital Management of First Hawaiian Bank. With more than 20 years of banking and management experience, she joined BSCM in 2002 and most recently served as vice president.

Stephanie Chun


Stephanie Chun has been named vice president and portfolio manager for Bishop Street Capital Management of First Hawaiian Bank. Chun has more than six years of fixed income investment and portfolio management experience and served previously with Oakwood Capital Management LLC in Los Angeles.
