Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii

Jason Hartman has been promoted to vice president and audit consultant in the Internal Audit/Credit Review Department for Bank of Hawaii. In his new position, Hartman will oversee audit programs for the bank’s various business units and evaluate control systems and operating procedures.

Kenneth Kirton has been hired as a financial adviser for American Savings Bank. Kirton has 15 years’ experience in the banking industry and most recently served as a financial consultant for Merrill Lynch.

Melissa Kim has been promoted to assistant account executive for McNeil Wilson Communications Inc.‘s Public Affairs Division. She previously served as account coordinator for the firm and will continue to serve clients such as the Battleship Missouri Memorial, Group 70 International Inc. and Kaiser Permanente Hawaii.

Candice Sato has been named controller for Mobi PCS. Sato most recently served as corporate controller at Hoku Scientific Inc. and now will be responsible for managing all Mobi PCS accounting functions, including internal control processes, analysis and reporting, among other duties.

Lisa Lo has been hired as chief financial officer for Star Protection Agency. Lo joined the company in 2006 and has more than 20 years experience in the accounting and corporate finance industry. She graduated from the University of Michigan.

Ramsay Taum has been appointed president of Pacific Islanders in Communications (PIC) Board of Directors. Taum also serves as director of External Relations and Community Partnerships at the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s School of Travel Industry Management, where he lectures on host cultural values in the workplace.

Steven Hill has been named director of design for Martin & MacArthur’s Furniture Division. Hill is an award-winning furniture designer with more than 27 years of experience designing and producing home furnishings. He will work to develop new furniture lines as well as custom furniture designs.

Darren Okihara has been hired as vice president of commercial underwriting for First Insurance Company of Hawaii. In this new position, Okihara will be responsible for generating new business and maintaining relationships with the company’s agency partners. He brings with him more than 19 years of underwriting and premium audit experience, previously serving as the Hawaii underwriting director and corporate director of Firemen’s Fund Insurance Company of Hawaii.

Nolie Diakoulas has been named project engineer for Suntech Hawaii. With more than eight years of construction experience, Diakoulas will be responsible for managing project integration, ensuring that the solar systems are built as designed and fit seamlessly into the overall project.

Karl H. Fujii has been promoted to executive vice president for Hawaiian Building Maintenance. Fujii joined the facilities services company in 1998 and most recently served as vice president and chief financial officer. He will oversee the company’s operations as well as the Finance and Human Resources departments.

Ann Lee has been appointed vice president, commercial real estate loan officer for American Savings Bank. Lee previously was vice president of development for PER Inc., a local contracting and development company. Her duties now include developing new business relationships with real estate investors and developers, in addition to managing an existing portfolio of customers.

Jean P. Creadick has been hired as vice president and private client services team leader in the Personal Trust - Estate Settlement Department for Bank of Hawaii. In this position, Creadick will be responsible for managing the settlement or termination of trusts and probate estates. Prior to joining the bank, she practiced law in Honolulu for 23 years.
