Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii

Susan Smith, franchisee for Haleiwa and Laie McDonald’s restaurants, has added the Koolau Center location in Kaneohe to her organization. Smith began her career with McDonald’s of Hawaii nearly 20 years ago. She most recently served as treasurer of the Golden Arches Merchants Association and continues to take part in the work of several McDonald’s committees at both the local and national levels.

Steve Renstrom has been promoted to manager of freight operations for Young Brothers Ltd. at Honolulu Harbor. Renstrom will oversee Young Brothers’ freight operations statewide. He joined the company in 2000 as barge/terminal superintendent, where he was responsible for supervising the loading and unloading of barges to and from all island ports.

Dr. Sheila Overton has joined the Pali Women’s Health Center in Kailua. As a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, Overton practiced at Kaiser Permanente in West Los Angeles for 17 years. She is a recipient of the Los Angeles County Commendation for “Excellence in Women’s Health Care” for her work in the area of teen-pregnancy prevention.

Bennett Liu has been appointed director of finance for the Honolulu Board of Realtors. In this new position, Liu will oversee a broad range of financial and accounting responsibilities, including planning and budgeting, accounting system operations, and asset management. He has more than 10 years of experience as a corporate controller.

Glenn Magpoc has been named director of outside marketing and sales for StorSecure, Self-Storage. Magpoc is a professional storage consultant offering solutions and free on-site estimation. Prior to joining the company, he was a sales associate with Servco Lexus.

Natalie Arrell has been appointed director of fund development for the Queen’s Health Systems. In this new position, Arrell will provide leadership, expertise and direction in the development and management of the Fund Development Program, among other duties. She previously served as executive director for the American Heart Association Hawaii.
