Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii

Melissa Carr, assistant manager at Wine the Experience, has been inducted into the Court of Master Sommeliers as a certified sommelier after completing an intensive three-month program and passing the Certified Exam at the Professional Culinary Institute in Campbell, Calif. Carr brings more than five years of experience and wine knowl-edge to the company.

Chris Rauch has been appointed manager of Navatek Ship Construction for Navatek Ltd. Rauch previously worked at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution as a research engineer.

David Kring has joined Navatek Ltd. as a chief scientist. A former research engineer at M.I.T., he previously worked at Anteon Corporation and Flight Safety Technologies Inc. He has 20 years’ experience in naval architecture and hydrodynamics projects, ranging from offshore platforms to submersibles to high-speed advanced marine vehicles.

Henry Borges has been promoted to warehouse manager for Army Hawaii Family Housing’s South Maintenance warehouse. Borges previously worked as a quality assurance associate and ware-house specialist for its North Maintenance region.

Francois-Regis Masson has been hired as vice president and retail credit analytics and reporting manager of the Retail Credit Department at Bank of Hawaii. In his new position, Masson will focus on credit review and analysis, systems administration and process improvement.

Cory Mitsui has been named as an agent for State Farm Insurance. Prior to joining the company, Mitsui worked as a certified financial planner with Prudential Financial for six years.

Co Vavul has been promoted to director of sales, online travel and distribution for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Hawaii. In addition to focusing on the company’s existing online travel, Vavul’s responsibilities will include uncovering new accounts in the online travel space.
