Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii

Steven Parker has been named operations manager for Wayne Parker, Partners in Design. He will be responsible for the daily operations of the business. Parker joined the firm four years ago after working in the residential construction custom cabinet-building business for several years.

Ann Katekaru has been elected to The Oceanic Institute Board of Trustees. Katekaru works as a senior consultant of human resources management services for Inkinen and Associates. As a senior consultant, she provides executive search and human resources consulting services to corpo-rate and individua l clients.

Pua Chan has been hired as provider services manager for UHA, Hawaii’s third-largest commercial health insurer. Chanwill maintain collabor active relation-ships with providers and the organizations that represent them, among other duties. She previously worked at Mountain-Pacific Quality Health as the beneficiary protection director and hospital payment monitoring program director for 10 years.

Joan Murata has been appointed publisher for Morris Visitor Publications. Murata has more than 24 years’ experience in the publishing field and previo u s l y served as vice president and group publisher at Media-HI Inc., the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau’s primary contact publisher.

Bob Dewitz has joined the board of directors for the Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii. RCUH supports the research and training programs of the University of Hawaii, while also enhancing research, development and training in Hawaii. He also is the owner and CEO of Hawaii Select Investments and chairman of the Board of American Electric LLC.

Dennis Condon has been hired as senior project manager for Heide & Cook Ltd. With 20 years of management experience in executive , operations and project levels, his responsibilities will include developing project schedules and budgets, among other duties.
