Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii

William Cabe has been appointed operations manager for Simply Organized LLC. Cabe will oversee the retail operation of the Kapolei store as well as any new Simply Organized stores that open in the future. He served previously as inventory manager at Mobi PCS for the past three years.

Larry McCarthy has been named a partner in finance for Distributed Energy Partners. In this position, McCarthy will manage finance, accounting and cashflow operations for the company and RevoluSun. He also will oversee HR, IT and will assist with sales and marketing. McCarthy brings more than 20 years of management experience to the company and previously served as vice president of operations for Concentris Systems.

Marcus Jones has been hired as a partner in development and operations for RevoluSun. In this position, Jones will manage develop-mental efforts and oversee daily operations to ensure that the company provides the most professional solar service available and that clients are satisfied with their solar investment. He served previously as a consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton.

Claus Z. Hansen, CEO and co-owner of Affordable Casket & Moanalua Mortuary, has been named Royal Danish Consulate, representing Hawaii. Hansen will join the diplomatic ranks as the newest Honorary Consul, a private citizen who helps represent the citizens of Denmark in a volunteer role.

Michael P. LaPorte has been appointed vice president for The Gas Company - Oahu Division. Prior to his appointment, LaPorte served as TGC’s vice president and controller, a position he has held since 2006. He originally joined the company in 1985 working for the company’s petroleum operation. In his new role, La Porte will oversee the Oahu Business Unit.

Ross Taosaka has been hired as director of development for Hawaii Youth Opera Chorus. His duties will include all fundraising aspects, major donations, donor relations and organizational growth. He most recently served as executive director of the Honolulu Symphony Chorus. In addition to his duties at HYOC, Taosaka continues to practice law, is a licensed massage therapist and a choral scholar at St. Andrew’s Cathedral.

Lowell Young has been named as an assistant executive house-keeper for Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa. Young is a veteran of the Village, serving in various capacities since 2002. He served previously as restaurant manager of Golden Dragon Restaurant and when the restaurant closed in February 2008, he transferred to the houskeeping department.
