Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii

Brian Benton has been elected president of the 2010 Honolulu Board of Realtors. Benton also serves as the broker in charge with Prudential Locations LLC and has held vari o u s leaders h i p p o s i -t i o n s , and has served o n numero u s committees for HBR, as well as the Hawaii Association of Realtors, among others. He has been a recipient of the Aloha Aina People’s Choice Award and the Prudential Locations Kokua Award.

Melanie J. Masaki has joined Dr. Michael A. McMann and the McMann Eye Institute in Ewa Beach. She received her doctorate of optometry degree from the Pacific University College of Optometry. Masaki has 10 y e a r s experience in both a private optometry and ophthalmology practice in Hawaii and most recently, she worked as an optometrist for the Aesthetic Vision Center.

Mark Savage has been hired as an IT business develop-m e n t manager f o r Pacific W i r e l e s s Communications. In this position, he will be responsible for the implementation and growth of the company’s Unified Communications and Wireless Broadband businesses. Prior to joining PWC, Savage was a senior program manager at Electronic Data Systems.

William A. Brizee has been promoted to chief executive officer for Architects Hawaii Ltd. Brizee, a principal at A H L s i n c e 2 0 0 3 , joined the firm in 1995 as a project architect and manager. An experienced architect especially in the retail and hospitality industries, some of his key projects include the Moana Surfrider, a Westin Resort renovation, and the Ohana Islander Waikiki.

Bettina Mehnert has been appointed chief operating officer for Architects Hawaii Ltd. Mehnert is the first woman in the firm’s 63-year history to be in a key leadership position, first as principal and director. In addition to her new position, she will continue as director of market-i n g , information systems and human resources. Mehnert has architectural experience in numerous project types and sizes, such as education and institutional facilit i e s , health-c a r e , hospitality and more.

J e f f Esmond has been hired as a consulting administrator for Actuarial Consultants Inc. In this role, Esmond helps to bring a local presence to firms searching for a consulting third-party administrative firm specializing in design, implementation and administration of qualified retirement plans. He most recently worked for Aon Consulting.
