Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii

Dylan Ching has been promoted to general manager at Duke’s Waikiki. He most recently served as assistant general manager for the restaurant and now will oversee day-to-day operations as well as the restaurant’s 280-plus employees.

Dan Giovanni has been named vice president of Energy Delivery for Hawaiian Electric Company. He previously served as manager of the company’s Generation Department and is now responsible for managing the Oahu electric transmission and distribution system.

Ron Cox has been promoted to vice president of Generation and Fuels for Hawaiian Electric Company. In this position, Cox will oversee the daily operation of Hawaiian Electric’s power plants as well as fuel procurement and infrastructure. He previously managed operations strategic planning and power supply services, where his responsibilities included fuel contract administration, biofuel procurement and more.

Lloyd Yonenaka has been hired as media relations and messaging manager for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs. Yonenaka will oversee media production, public relations and market-branding services designed to manage the communication flow and content between OHA and the community. He previously worked as the administrator of the Information and Community Relations Office at the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands.

Shawn Villafuerte has been appointed assistant vice president supervisor/compliance specialist for Territorial Savings Bank. He joined the bank in 2005 and will now be responsible for keeping up with the latest BSA/AML training to all bank employees. Villafuerte has 26 years of banking operations experience.
