Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii

Glenn Hong, president and CEO of Hawaiian Tug and Barge/Young Brothers, has recently been re-appointed chairman of the Hawaii Employers Council Board of Governors. His services will include providing a comprehensive, innovative and cost-effective employee relations solution program.

James Kareka has been promoted to director of sales for The Kahala Hotel and Resort. Kareka and his team will continue to initiate service and product enhancements. A 20-year veteran of the travel industry, he has served as vice president of global sales for travel management company Casto, and also served as business development manager for Classic Vacations for four years.

Hawaii Public Radio has announced Beth-Ann Kozlovich and Chris Vanderhook as hosts of its new morning program, The Conversation, which airs weekday mornings from 8 to 9 on KIPO 89.3FM. On The Conversation, which is “For, By and About The People of Hawaii,’’ they will talk about all sorts of things, from the state’s budget crisis to huli-huli chicken, with audience involvement.

Jordan Thomas has been named apprentice golf professional at Hoakalei Country Club. Thomas’ primary responsibilities will be to assist other golf professionals with the day-today operations and member services. Thomas had previous experience at Waikele Golf Club and Ko Olina Golf Club, and is an accomplished golfer.
