Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii

Michele K. Saito has been elected to Hawaii Medical Service Association (HMSA) community board of directors. Saito is president of Farmers Insurance Hawaii, overseeing 300 employees statewide. She is responsible for the daily operations of the Farmers Insurance family of companies. Active in the community, Saito serves on the boards of the University of Hawaii Alumni Association, Child and Family Services, Aloha United Way and Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce.

Girard D. Lau was appointed solicitor general for the state of Hawaii. Currently Lau supervises the Appellate Division in the Hawaii Department of the Attorney General.

Sharon V. Lovejoy has been inducted into the Litigation Counsel of America and honor society for which fewer than 1 percent of American lawyers are selected. Lovejoy is currently a director of the law firm Starn, O’Toole Marcus & Fisher, specializing in commercial and business litigation, as well as real estate disputes.

Ronald Christopher Scott has been hired as executive assistant for the new Taft-Hartley division of Hawaii-Western Management Group, one of Hawaii’s largest insurance management services companies and administrators for HMAA. In this role, Scott will oversee the day-to-day operations of union related, self-funded and fully insured clients.

Johnny Hobayan has been promoted to vice president of sales and marketing for Aloha Air Cargo. Hobayan will focus his efforts on developing strategies to engage opportunities in Hawaii and abroad.

Pamela Moore has been named The Gas Company’s environmental health and safety director. Moore will provide technical and administrative direction on all safety, health and environmental policies and programs and oversee implementation of TGC’s safety initiatives throughout the state.
