Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii

CharlAnn Nakamoto has been hired as director of human resources for NCL America. Nakamoto has more than 23 years of human resources experience in the hospitality industry. She previously worked as director of human resources at the Makena Resort - Maui Prince Hotel.

Lee Higa has been hired as recruitment manager for NCL America. Higa will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, retention and support of human resources for NCL America’s three ships: Pride of Aloha, Pride of America and Pride of Hawaii.

Sandra Weir has been promoted from manager to director of business development for NCL America. She has more than 15 years of experience in the fields of accounting, financial analysis, business planning and marketing.

Shungo Kawanishi has been promoted to vice president for global affairs TransPacific Hawaii College. Kawanishi will be responsible for promoting TransPacific Hawaii College to the Mainland and Asia. He will establish a global education program at the college.

George Turner has joined First Insurance Company of Hawaii as manager of its bond department. He previously worked as the Northern California representative of Old Republic Surety Company.

Curtis Saiki has been named a director of the Hawaii chapter board of the American Liver Foundation. Saiki is an attorney with Cades Schutte.

Manoj Samaranayake has been named a director of the Hawaii chapter board of the American Liver Foundation. Samaranayake is a tax manager for Pricewater-house Coopers.
