Dear Pamela,

I want to thank a kind military couple who rescued me when my car was stuck on the Wahiawa Bridge. I think the wife’s name was Nana, but I didn’t get her husband’s name. It was very scary. Much mahalo to them for their help, which I will never forget.

Aloha Pamela,

I want to thank a kind, honest man named Mr. Traves. I don’t know his first name. He found my check that I left at Territorial Savings. He could have easily cashed it, but he went through the trouble to find my phone number and contact me. Thank you, Mr. Traves!

Dear Pamela,

To the young man who helped me change my flat tire on Kalanianaole Highway across from the Aina Haina Fire Station, thank you, thank you. This senior citizen is much appreciative of your generosity. I could have done it in about 30 minutes, but it took you 10! Your kindness will be remembered.

Daniel Igarashi
Waimanalo

Dear Pamela,

I’d like to give some APPLAUSE to Bob C., who left me a note on my windshield when he opened his car door and hit my car in the Kahala Mall parking lot. It was actually a very small dent and I would not have noticed it if he hadn’t written the note. I just thought it was so nice to know there are honest people out there. He could have driven away and I wouldn’t have been the wiser. I will not share his full name because I don’t want to embarrass him. Bob, I believe good things will come to you because you did the right thing. Mahalo to you.

Dear Jessica, Daniel, Katherine and Janet,

I, too, believe good things are due to your anonymous angels, who make it a habit of putting other people first.

(If you know someone who deserves some Applause, send your letters to Pamela Young, MidWeek Applause, KITV, 801 S. King St., Honolulu, HI, 96813 or e-mail pyoung@kitv.com. Include your name, phone number and, if possible, the phone number of your “applaudee” so we can contact him or her.)
