Dear Pamela,

I would like to send a big mahalo to the couple who helped me lift my 94-year-old mother after she fell in front of the Chinese Kitchen restaurant at Chun Hoon Shopping Center. My mother is quite heavy, and I would not have been able to help her on my own.

She was fine and forgot about the incident in 10 minutes. However, their kind deed deserves APPLAUSE and will not be forgotten. Thank you, thank you.

Dear Pamela,

Three of us were involved in an accident last month and would like to thank Zack for coming to our aid when my car was rear-ended.

The culprit took off and the case is still being investigated.

Although no one was seriously injured, it was a shock since we were completely stopped, waiting for the traffic light to change.

Mahalo, Zack, for being a caring person.

Hi Pamela,

I just wanted to send out APPLAUSE to two people.

The first is the person who found my wallet on Koko Head Crater Trail on Friday, April 30. He/she turned it in to the police station and everything was still in my wallet.

And the second person is the police officer from the Kalihi sub-station who drove all the way to my house and dropped it off. I did not get either name, but it shows that there are honest and hardworking people out there. Thank you so much!

Dear Kimberly, Leona, Eileen, Leslie and Carol,

The world is full of angels who mysteriously appear just when we need them.

And the most blessed of angels are those who will give of their time and care to strangers without a need for material reward or recognition.

(If you know someone who deserves some Applause, send your letters to Pamela Young, MidWeek Applause, KITV, 801 S. King St., Honolulu, HI, 96813 or e-mail pyoung@kitv.com. Include your name, phone number and, if possible, the phone number of your “applaudee” so we can contact him or her.)
