Dear Pamela,

I bought a Danish at Longs Downtown and was in the process of eating it on the way to an appointment.

Suddenly I started choking and was totally unable to breathe. Some students wearing these green T-shirts from the Remington College of Massage were walking by. I grabbed one of the students and used hand motions to show I was choking. Three students started pounding my back and doing the Heimlich maneuver. They called some other people to help. Someone called 911.

I was losing consciousness when the ambulance and fire truck arrived. I did not get anyone’s names, but I want to thank them for all their help.

Dear Ellen,

Remington College of Massage Clinic coordinator Cherie-Lyn Apuya says you were lucky to recognize the school’s green T-shirts. “One of Ellen’s friends took a course here, so she was familiar with the school and knew we train our students in first aid and CPR.” Your Remington angels were students Denise Medeiros and Elizabeth Mullaney.

Dear Pamela,

I need to express my gratitude to the Waipio Gentry Taco Bell staff for their honesty and integrity in returning my lost wallet this week.

The dedicated food service staff are such a blessing to have ensured the safe return of my wallet and the personal

contents inside. Please applaud them for their excellent and much appreciated professionalism.

Dear Melissa,

“I’m not surprised the staff would do something like this because they are all very honest,” says Waipio Gentry Taco Bell manager Leny Kaai. “We find lots of lost items every week. We have a procedure that includes informing the manager, keeping the items locked in a safe until someone can identify them, and turning them over only with the proper I.D. It’s a pleasure working with such an honest and hardworking staff.”
