Regional Manager of Consolidated Theatres

A mentor once shared with me that “we don’t make the movies, but movie theatres enable our guests to experience the transformative power of movies.”

A memory that has always stayed with me occurred on my first day on the job with Consolidated Theatres. I saw a young boy exiting the theatre with his father after seeing the first Star Wars movie. He had a sparkle in his eye as though he had just learned the secret of life.

Right then, I knew that I wanted to work to provide that experience to all of Hawaii’s movie-goers.

Consolidated Theatres is committed to ensuring that its movie theatres remain relevant; a place where moviegoers can escape to the latest adventure, mystery, drama or love story.

From the aroma of freshly popped popcorn to the cool comfort and anticipation of a quiet auditorium, when island audiences hear the familiar sound of the conch shell, they know that they are in for an exceptional experience.

Just this month, we launched Titan Extreme Cinema - Consolidated Theatres’ new big-screen concept. We’ve redesigned one of our largest auditoriums at Ward Stadium 16 to create the very best moviegoing experience in the world, featuring a massive wall-to-wall movie screen, pristine 3D system, ground-breaking 75,000-watt digital sound with 32 surround speakers and new, first-class leather seating.

As one of our managers said, its “sight and sound are so good, you can taste it.” And to ensure that getting a seat in Titan XC is always convenient, we are offering a new reserved seating amenity. Reserved tickets are on sale now for ToyY Story 3 in 3D and will be available shortly for Eclipse, which opens June 30.

In addition to providing the latest technology and access to highly anticipated Hollywood blockbusters, as well as foreign and independent films, Consolidated Theatres is committed to giving back to our community. Recently, we hosted a screening for residents, including keiki, from the transitional shelter The Next Step Project, and every year we donate movie passes to worthwhile causes and charities across the Islands.

Consolidated Theatres prides itself on being a place for ohana to share memories. Our weekly Crybaby Matinees keep the lights dimmed and the sound low, with the convenience of a baby-changing table and stroller valet, so parents can enjoy the latest releases. Our alternative content options include live University of Hawaii Warrior football games at our Ko’olau Stadium 10. A leader in the Asia film market, “SpotlightAsia!” brings Hawaii’s favorite Asian stars to the big screen, featuring films from China, Korea, Japan and the Philippines.

Serving Hawaii since 1917, Consolidated Theatres is a kama’aina company with nine theatres throughout Oahu and Maui.
