In today’s market, successful businesses must constantly evolve with their clients’ changing needs. Building relationships with your clients and finding ways to help them solve their problems can be the key to expanding your business.

At Chelsea Group, we are in the business of advising people on fixing broken buildings, preventing problems and maintaining existing buildings. Now, we are evolving to help our clients with a different kind of challenge - improving their in-house building engineering and maintenance services while increasing the value of their property. We call our new program “Midsource Engineering Services.”

Most people think about building maintenance services as either an in-house function or as an outsourced service. Chelsea Group’s Midsource Engineering Services provides a building owner or property manager with ongoing coaching and technical leadership from top level talent that can enhance the capabilities of their own in-house personnel. We don’t replace their in-house team - we give them the tools to be a better team.

For example, our client PM Realty Group, a property management company, has found that the tenants in their buildings are happier when PM Realty Group keeps an in-house engineering and maintenance staff. This gives PM Realty better control of day-to-day services and the ability to respond quickly to tenant needs. They have also realized that the daily routine of their staff needs to be supplemented with additional knowledge that can only come from experience in various building environments. This is where we come in.

We provide ongoing coaching and technical advice, benchmarking and tracking support, recruiting and retention assistance, regular brown bag lunch meetings between engineers and property managers, and quarterly technical training sessions that review and address the opportunities and building maintenance needs of PM Realty’s properties. By doing this, our team helps PM Realty’s in-house staff to enhance their performance at each property. The result: happier tenants and improved value of the building as a real estate asset.

Midsource Engineering Services has grown naturally from the consulting Chelsea Group has done for many years. Consulting assignments typically limit our role to solving a single problem, yet our clients often want the broader technical depth and insight that our experts provide. Midsource Engineering Services addresses our clients’ long-term needs by providing ongoing guidance so problems can be prevented and cost-saving opportunities quickly recognized.

The midsourcing concept also has its roots in the heart of our business. The aloha spirit is the foundation of our business and part of our culture as a company. Our team is committed to working with clients to build lasting relationships that add real value to our client’s businesses. This working philosophy is why we have such confidence that our new Midsource Engineering Services will benefit our clients and add significant value to their business.

We are able to offer this new line of service because we listened to our clients and what their needs were. When you concentrate on that, the rest just falls into place and your own business can blossom.
