Intolerance, Not Integrity Comment(s)

Mahalo Plenty Dan Boylan for telling it like it is. The Senate President has the discretion and authority to help Hawai`i be in the vanguard of equality.

Especially at this time, diversity is a strength that must be relied on to help carry us through, not only these challenging economic times, but all the time.

It would be a shame if the opportunity for equality is squandered by Senators ignoring their constitutional oath, in favor of a mob in red shirts who mandate their religion must trump equality.

Well done Dan. Glad to hear that Sen. Hanabusa, you, and I had an opportunity to be graduate students in Iowa. None of us stayed there, but we probably all experienced the earnest decency of people in Iowa. Now years later, we all can look back and wonder: How did Iowa get to have more Aloha than Hawaii?

Great article Dan. So you, Sen. Hanabusa, and I all went to graduate school in Iowa. I assume that we all had the experience of learning the decency of Iowans—their basic fairness and integrity. But Hawaii certainly has it all over Iowa for its acceptance and celebration of diversity—except for the acceptance and celebration of its LGBT people. It pains me to say that Iowa seems to have a lot more Aloha than Hawaii. You nailed it.
