Aveda Academy Every Monday

Aveda Salon & Spa at Ala Moana Center has launched a special program called Aveda Academy, “providing valuable additional training for their new stylists while offering great discounts to customers on various hair services, including cuts and color.” Stylists are fully supervised by Aveda team leaders, and the services provided include $25 for all haircuts (reg. $50 and up) and color/highlights starting at $40 (usually $65 and up). All hair services are specially priced and come with all of the usual Aveda signature accoutrements, such as Aveda Comforting Tea, a stress relieving treatment on the shoulder, neck and scalp, a hand/arm moisturizing massage, and an aroma-infused hot towel for men or a makeup touch-up for women. Aveda Academy takes place every Monday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., starting Jan. 9. By appointment only. Call 947-6141.

CHANEL has reopened its newly renovated Ala Moana Fashion and Jewelry boutiques. And to celebrate the opening, the CHANEL Ala Moana Fine Jewelry Boutique is offering two exclusive items for purchase: a new limited edition J12 white ceramic watch with an amethyst crown, available in two sizes 33mm and 38mm with about 50 available for each size; and the 2005 comet ring made in 18K white gold, a center stone of 0.30-0.35 carats, and the rest of the 40 pave diamonds equal to a total of 0.65 carats. There are about 40 comet rings available. Both shops remain in the same locations, but the extensive renovations give a new and modern CHANEL presence in Hawaii. For more information, call 957-0055.

Salvatore Ferragamo, the Italian fashion house, has reopened its doors in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center with a new two-story flagship. To celebrate the store opening, limited edition GancioLogo handbags, small leather goods, shoes, hibiscus handbag charms, silk foulards, and for men, signature silk wave pattern ties have been created exclusively for the Honolulu market. The store will also feature an intimate art gallery space, which will exhibit “A Love Affair with Shoes,” a collection of Ferragamo archival shoes and photos of the famous celebrities who wore them. Pictured at left are a couple of the Hawaii exclusive items: ties $130, and satchel bag with gold trimming $640. For more information, call 971-4267.
