Fighting Eel, Lily Lotus To Open In Kailua

Kaneohe Ranch has signed leases with Fighting Eel and Lily Lotus at its Kailua Town Center redevelopment project, which is slated to be completed this fall.

Fighting Eel will be located in 1,300 square feet of retail space on the Kailua Road side of the Whole Foods Market now under construction.

Lily Lotus will occupy 750 square feet next to Cold Stone Creamery on Kailua Road.

Local designers Rona Bennett and Lan Chung created Fighting Eel in 2003 and it quickly became one of the fastest-growing young fashion companies from the 50th state.

Their designs have been featured in many national publications, and have been seen on countless Hollywood celebrities such as Eva Longoria, Hayden Panettiere, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. Lily Lotus was founded in 2001 by Honolulu designer Momi Chee. Comfort and quality form the foundation of Lily Lotus garments along with earth-conscious materials and production methods. Lily Lotus started its flagship boutique in Kaimuki in April 2008, and the line is sold nationwide. Chee says the Kailua store will be bigger than the town location, which is now closed, and is in alignment with Whole Foods Market and the whole living concept.
