Japanese Women’s Society Foundation Fashion Show April 29


The Japanese Women’s Society Foundation presents its annual fashion show at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel on Sunday, April 29. This year’s theme is Nature’s Inspirations, featuring a collage of colors and fabrics by three designers: Linda Iki of Iki Couture, Vicki Yamagasa Ragasa of KiYo Designs and Iolani Sportswear.

Net proceeds from the event will be donated to Kuakini Home, a care home for the elderly at Kuakini Medical Center, and to other projects which benefit the senior population. Boutique sales open at 9 a.m., ballroom doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the fashion show luncheon is scheduled at noon.

Citron Trunk Show @ Calista

Citron Santa Monica will be at Calista at Kahala Mall for an exclusive trunk show on Sunday, April 22 from 1 to 5 p.m. and on Monday, April 23 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The trunk show will include informal modeling of Citron Santa Monica’s summer and fall 2007 collections. Aveda Salon & Spa Presents Fashion Show For The Earth on April 24


Aveda Salon & Spa, along with its Earth Month partners Ala Moana Center, Betsey Johnson, Menehune Water Company and Pearl Ultralounge, presents a Fashion Show For The Earth on Tuesday, April 24, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Pearl Ultralounge at Ala Moana Center.

The event is a benefit for the Hawaii Nature Center and will feature fashions by Betsey Johnson, hair and makeup by Aveda Salon & Spa, drink and pupu specials by Pearl, mini spa services, goodie bags, door prizes, water from Menehune Water and more. Adasa Celebrates 10 Years With Mimosa Hour


Adasa celebrates 10 years with a mimosa hour at its Kailua store (602 Kailua Road) every Friday from 5 to 6 p.m. For one hour only, each week’s new arrivals are 20 percent off.

Also, on Saturday, April 21, stop by Adasa Kailua for its first Teen Fashion Show at 4 p.m. The event was created to provide teens with an opportunity to learn more about the fashion industry. Teens will attain experience in modeling and selecting their ensembles. They also will write a brief essay about the designers they have chosen. One winner will be chosen from the teen participants, and receive a unique internship at the Kailua boutique.

 

HCC’s Spring Fashion Show Cover Shot

Fashion design students at Honolulu Community College showcased a fabulous line of paper dresses at Kahala Mall’s recent Viva la Diva fashion show on March 24. The garments were made using a variety of papers, such as doilies, tissue, paper towels and rice paper.

The first place winner, Meghan Matsumoto, created a striking green and blue graphic print with a fitted fringe bodice and mini skirt (pictured at left).
