Music, Art And Fashion At The Loft

Slapp Symphony will host a fashion show and CD release party for its new album The Slapp Collective Oct. 23 at 9 p.m. at the Loft.

DJ Jimmy Taco will be spinning and there will be live performances by Tassho Pearce, Creed Chameleon, Kaipo Kapua, Samoan Dynasty, Mic3, Mox and more. There also will be live paintings by Ground Up Movement. On the runway will be fashions from Fitted Hawaii, Flip The Bird and others.

The Loft is located at 115 N. Hotel St. The event is open to adults 18 years and older. Cost is $10. A portion of the proceeds will go to the American Red Cross Hawaii Chapter for support in Samoa and the Philippines.

Rummage Swap Sale

Dollhouse Promotions will host a Rummage Swap Sale Oct. 24 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Neal Blaisdell Center Exhibition Hall (Galleria and Maui Room). Rummage is a clothing, accessory, handbag and shoe exchange where you can “recycle” items that you have not used in the past six months to others.

Swap three to five “new” items (clothes, handbags, accessories and shoes) with 100 ladies while enjoying free pupus, wine sampling and a beauty bar with mini manicures, mini pedicures, hairstyling, massages and more. There also will be giveaways and a no-host bar.

Items need to be dropped off by Oct. 23 at Cloth boutique (909 Kapiolani Blvd.).

Closet Swap Oct. 24

Fashionista’s Market presents its third annual Closet Swap Oct. 24 at Luana Hills Country Club (770 Auloa Road in Kailua) with a champagne breakfast at 9:30 a.m. and the swap at 11 a.m.

Clean out your closet of fashionable gently used/brand new clothes, bags, shoes and accessories that don’t fit and you haven’t worn in the past six months and drop them off at the FM Boutique (1185 Bethel St.) by Oct. 22. Your items will be tallied up and you’ll receive a ticket with the amount of pieces you’ve qualified for toward your swapping credit.
