Pualani Hawaii in InStyle

The Pualani Hawaii ‘Tigress’ convertible bikini top and tie side bottom are featured in the current (June 2008) InStyle magazine as one of Cameron Diaz’s Sexy Summer Must-Haves. In the article, Diaz is quoted as saying “I love surfing in Pualani Hawaii bikinis.

They’re tiny, so you get a really good tan, but they stay on.”

According to Pualani Hawaii owner Iwalani Isbell, Diaz has been purchasing swimsuits from her since 2003. “She found us because she was learning how to surf here on Oahu and the (female) instructors were wearing our suits,” says Isbell. Pualani Hawaii can be found at various surf and specialty boutiques throughout the state, and at its flagship store, Pualani Honolulu, at Kaimana Beach Hotel (2863 Kalakaua Ave.) Suite 2. Ala Moana Welcomes Kahala

Kahala, the legendary sportswear company, opens its first-ever retail store in the new Nordstrom wing at Ala Moana Center, featuring its complete line of aloha shirts, T-shirts and bottoms. A grand opening and store blessing is scheduled for June 19.

The relaunch of the Kahala brand features a new logo and label (a 2007 Pele Award winner) with the image of local canoe surfer Jimmy Thurston. Pipeline surfing legend Gerry Lopez composed the poetic copy found on the hangtags for the cotton broadcloth program. And aloha shirt connoisseur and longtime former Kahala owner Dale Hope has provided the vision and creative direction as general manager.
