Soleil Opens in Kapahulu
Polynesia meets urban fashion at Soleil, a boutique now open at 909 Kapahulu Ave. (near Leonard’s Bakery).
The store offers lines from small boutique designers in Los Angeles, New York City and the South Pacific, as well as accessories from Tahiti, Samoa and throughout the Pacific.
Brands include Nicacelly, Cerbae Street Couture, Super Lucky Cat, Who Cares, Lulu Lame, Dub Wise, Frenzii, and bikinis by STK.
Soleil also features a line from Rarotonga, Cook Islands, named Tav; and local Hawaii designers such as Ginger 13, Roberta Oaks, Cirque and Wings Hawaii.
The store also carries plus sizes for fuller-figured women, and new items are scheduled to arrive at least every two weeks.

Macy’s Community Shopping Day
More than 50 nonprofit organizations on Oahu and Maui will participate in and benefit from Macy’s Community Shopping Day, a program that gives nonprofits the chance to raise money for programs in their communities while offering savings to participating Macy’s shoppers on Friday, June 22.
Participating nonprofit groups, as well as Macy’s Oahu stores and Macy’s at Maui’s Queen Kaahumanu Center, have begun selling $10 tickets for this year’s Community Shopping Day. Shoppers who purchase tickets get 10 percent to 20 percent discounts on almost all purchases made on June 22, while participating nonprofits get to keep 100 percent of their ticket sale proceeds. They also share in-store ticket sale proceeds. Community Shopping Day customers also will enjoy gift with purchase offers in selected departments, as well as special guest appearances, entertainment and more. Customers can also enter to win a Macy’s shopping spree valued at $500.
