Tori Richard Design Contest

As part of its 50th anniversary celebration, Tori Richard Ltd. announces a print design contest open to all Hawaii-based artists. First prize is $3,000 and the winning design will be considered for inclusion in Tori Richard’s Fall 2007 collection. Second prize is $1,000 and third prize is $500.

Artists are invited to submit work based on their interpretation of the theme, Mediterranean meets the Pacific.

All artwork must be submitted on slides, one of full piece, one detail and no more than 36 inches in either direction. Two-dimensional artwork in any medium is accepted, as well as embellishments such as embroidery, applique, beading or sequins. A total of 25 finalists will be selected to submit actual artwork for the final decision.Winners will be announced in late August.

Submissions are due Aug. 1, and will be judged by a committee of Tori Richard executives and artists. Fabulous Fashions At Kahala Mall

Kahala Mall presents its Viva La Diva Runway Fashion Show — The Runway: Focus on Fabulous — at Center Court on Saturday, April 1 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

The show kicks off with a performance by Cirque Hawaii at 12:20 p.m. Then at 1 p.m., shift your style into high gear as fabulous fashions and accessories hit the catwalk, including the latest collections from Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Blush, Calista, Gymboree, Macy’s, Morgan Beret Fine Lingerie, Ohelo Road, Reyn’s, Shasa Emporium, and T&C Surf Designs. Models will have their hair and makeup designed by stylists from Marsha Nadalin Salon & Spa.
