New York Pizza at Antonio’s “Real pizza made by real Italians” is one of the slogans at Antonio’s Pizza on Waialae Avenue (opposite Kahala Mall). If you’ve not tried the thin crust award-winning pizza, then stop by this month, where a second pizza is 50 percent off with the purchase of a regular 14-inch pie.

“We offer the best pizza on the island,” say owners Joe and Anthony. Antonio’s is a casual eatery where customers order at the counter and can eat in café style, no nonsense atmosphere where service is minimal - but the food is good.

With a range of sandwiches - and probably the best meatball sandwich in Honolulu - prices reflect the lack of pretension.

That means great quality food that’s affordable.

Dixie Grill Closed for Renovations.

Don’t panic if you drive past Dixie Grill on Ward Avenue and don’t get your daily fix of its amusing messages posted outdoors - or can’t live without its award winning ribs and sauces. It’s only closed for renovations. The popular rib and crab house will reopen in the fall after extensive remodeling.

Owner Ed Wary says guests can expect to see a new menu too. In the meantime, Dixie Grill at 99-016 Kamehameha Highway in Aiea will remain open on weekends from 10 a.m. and weekdays from 11 a.m.

Wary’s other restaurants include Auntie Pasto’s - with locations on South Beretania Street and in the Kunia Shopping Center, and there’s a new Auntie Pasto’s scheduled to open this week in Maui’s Queen Kaahumanu Shopping Center.

Willows Adds Seafood Station to Buffet.

The all-you-can-eat buffet at The Willows is introducing some gourmet items courtesy of talented executive chef Jay Matsukawa, with the most recent additions including a seafood bar with oysters on the half shell, king crab legs, sashimi and shrimp cocktail.

“There’s no change in the price of the buffet,” says Willows’ managing director Kyle Nakayama.

“Chef Jay has added a lot of different items to the buffet, and he constantly surprises us with new dishes. The seafood addition to our nightly dining buffet is something that we know our customers want.

“We now can offer them high quality sashimi, oysters on the half shell, among other things, and the best thing is it’s at no extra charge!”

The Willows dinner buffet costs $29.95 and is served nightly.

Other signature dishes at Molly’s include kolaches (think malasadas filled with Portuguese sausage, barbecue pork, homemade sausage or smoked brisket), beef brisket, homemade corn bread, and traditional sides of collard greens, red potatoes, baked beans, black-eyed peas, corn on the cob, mac salad, refried beans, mac and cheese, coleslaw, ranch beans, white rice, fried okra, yams, green beans and salads.
