Actress/fitness trainer Tess Yong with

Actress Tess Yong is currently on stage in Tea at Kumu Kahua Kahua Theatre. The play was written and directed by Velina Hasu Houston. The ensemble cast features Denise Aiko Chinen, Karen Hironaga, Blossom Lam and Christine Yano. Tess was cast in the hit series Lost as a friend of Yunjin Kim. Tess is a graduate of UH-Manoa with a marketing degree and was born and raised in Seoul, Korea. Her background is in fitness, and she owns Yongatheart Fitness. As a youngster she participated in dance and acting. Tess also competed and won numerous fitness competitions in her career. Also penned a book Energy Fitness and Diet and video of the same title. Cinematographer Dustin Lamoureux is a Punahou alumnus and a graduate of the University of Hawaii. He also attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. Well-versed in a multitude of things. He plays the guitar and surfs. His talent runs the gamut, if you will. Dustin’s passion is definitely making films, though. He writes, shoots, edits and burns it on DVDs. His film credits include The Red Hibiscus and Living Your Dying by filmmaker Robert Pennybacker. Dustin co-owns Cold Stone Creamery in Waikiki with his mom, Valerie Lamoureux. She’s supportive of the local film industry with her generous sponsorship. Next up for Dustin is to get on board on

Lost. Good luck ... Actor Alan Arkin will arrive in town for his public forum, “Bridging the Chasm from Theater to Life” at the University of Hawaii. I attended his talk last year and recommend it to everyone, not just actors. Don’t miss it ... Sending her greetings from Baltimore is stuntwoman Dovile Mark. She’s currently on the set of Invasion starring Nicole Kidman and Jonathan Taylor Thomas. Nicole was born in Honolulu, so that makes her one of us. Dovile’s most recent work was on Wedding Crashers with Rachel McAdams, Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn. Dovile is one of the only female stuntplayers in Hawaii.

Her skills include sky diving, climbing and rappelling, martial arts and - get this - flying trapeze. Wow! She’s also an award-winning filmmaker with her movie Dog Dreams. She speaks Lithuanian and Russian fluently. She can’t wait to come home for some sushi, her favorite ... Congrats to Kai Bovaird for his recent assignment as a visual effects supervisor on the hit series Lost. He trained in art and computer animation at the San Francisco Academy of Art. His specialty is digital effects and computer graphics used in filmmaking. His company cause & f(x) Pictures is a fully functional facility in digital visual effects. After many years in Tinseltown he decided to come back home. Kai’s presence alone helps boost the local film industry to another level. His support system includes visual artists Mike Varley, Ben Leong and Kristy Masada. Kai’s credits include Fight Club, Matrix Reloaded, Red Planet, Scooby Doo and X-Men. Howard Noh is your consummate actor in that he studied with many acting teachers: Glenn Cannon, Terence Knapp, Scott Rogers, Wayne Ward and Paul Weber.
