Punahou sophomore Nicole
Pfeffer has a promising future in

Since her last performance, newcomer Nicole Pfeffer made a huge leap. I saw her in a scene from Pretty in Pink that made Molly Ringwald a star. Nicole impressed me tremendously, to say the least. Currently a Punahou School sophomore, Nicole hosts the school’s video news magazine Punavision. She’s represented by Joy Kam of the Kathy Muller Talent agency. Nicole definitely has natural gifts that will elevate her in the film industry. She recently tried out at the Academy of Creative Media at University of Hawaii. The film school is developing the next generation of filmmakers, namely Chrystal Jameson, Jennifer Tokunaga, Jason Ordenstein and Tommy Takemoto-Chock. Nicole’s favorites are Morgan Freeman, Nicole Kidman, curry rice and TCBY coffee. She hasn’t acted in any movies yet, but that will change very soon. You heard it in Hawaiiwood first ...

Four-time world champion kickboxer Curtis Bush was recently seen on ABC’s Lost as a recruiter for the U.S. Army. His passion now is another tough industry to crack - the movie business. He’s originally from Virginia, but relocated to Oahu several years ago. His last film role was in Tides of War directed by Brian Trenchard-Smith. Local actors featured in the movie are Steve Boatright, Gene DeFrancis, Eric Lee, Roy Tjioe and Larry Wegger. Curtis goes by the nickname “Explosive Thin Man.” He also captured the USBA Boxing crown twice. Fun times were on the set of Teenage Mutant
Ninja Turtles I and II

Sean Jones is “Razoul” in the Diamond Head Theatre production of Aladdin Jr. The play is co-directed by Miles Wesley and Adealani Malia. The lead role of “Aladdin” is played by Chris Villasenor, and Vida Mae Fernandez co-stars. Featured actors are TX Tario, Kyle Malis, Devin Elting and Arlin Busano. Sean was on the big screen at the 2005 Hawaii International Film Festival in the movie Valtor the Great vs. The Universe. Shannon Crivello, Lew Lappert, Clint Scofield and Samuel Chang were featured as Martians. Stay tuned for more on Sean’s acting career ...

The O Lounge was the venue for the Actor 2 Actor seminar. Excellent performances by Mary Ann Taheny, Nicole Pfeffer, Libette Garcia, Bob Stevens, Dezmond Gilla and Mark Ganialongo. Stopping by to catch the action were producer Ace Grant, photographer Rick Bernico and directors Hyun Shin and Jay Hubert. A big mahalo to owner Liz Hata-Watanabe and manager Hanson Nguyen for supporting local talent. The visually stunning club is the hot spot for Hawaii’s actors and singers. Check out their events calendar at www.theolounge.com - see you there ...

Does anyone else notice a striking similarity between Ziyi Zhang and the lovely Nicole?  Anyway I do so hope to see her in films in the future, she looks like she has the talent and I thank you, Midweek, for informing us of this young lady’s potential.

Punahou seems to turn out it’s fair share of wonderful people, does it not?  Kelly Preston, Michelle Wie, Nicole Pfeffer- who knows what other talented people will come from that school!
