Many of my friends’New Year’s resolutions happen to be about getting fit. How about laughing into shape? The Jon Lovitz show produced by the Laugh Factory gave my abs a great workout and I was sweating from laughing non-stop. Opening act was funnyman Kento followed by Jo Koy, who rocked the Blaisdell. Seen in the audience were local celebs Cathy Tanaka, Alan Arato, Gerard Elmore, Elroy Entendencia, Lanai and Milan Tresnak. Promoter Jon Schneider has more shows coming up, so stay tuned ...
The third annual Ohana Film Festival is kicking off Friday, Jan. 27 at 6:30 p.m. The Kamehameha Schools is presenting this successful event at Ke’elikolani Auditorium. The film fest is free to the public, and a reception will follow the screening. Kudos to Patricia Gillespie and Jay Metzger for organizing the event. Advanced Video Production class students Kamaka Pili, Alyssa Bergado and Christin Couch contributed their talents to the festival. Kamehameha alumni and current students were involved in each film to be presented. Many of the films are award-winners from the 2005 Hawaii International Film Festival.
