After-School All-Stars Receive $50K

The Clarence T.C. Ching Foundation recently gave a $50,000 grant to the After-School All-Stars Hawaii chapter. The grant will be used to support comprehensive after-school programs for at-risk youths at Dole and Kalakaua middle schools in Kalihi, King Intermediate in Kaneohe, Jarrett Middle School in Palolo and Washington Middle School in Honolulu. Blood Bank Donates School Supplies

Blood Bank of Hawaii employees donated 26 boxes of school supplies recently for neighboring Puuhale Elementary School. Nagayama Meets Golf Legend Palmer

Toru Nagayama (right), president of Haseko Inc., which owns Hoakalei Country Club, recently participated in the annual meeting of Arnold Palmer Golf Management hosted at the golf legend’s Latrobe Country Club in Pennsylvania at the personal invitation of Arnold Palmer (left). This marks Nagayama’s second consecutive year as a member of the exclusive meeting, which brings together successful and diverse country club owners and advisers from across the U.S. to discuss clubs’ membership performance, special club programs and future strategies.
