Duke’s Waikiki Honors Beach Boys

Duke’s Waikiki recently celebrated Hawaii’s famed watermen with its annual Beach Boy Tribute. The event is held in honor of Hawaii’s world-renowned beach boys, past and present, while celebrating the 120th birthday of the restaurant’s namesake, the legendary Duke Paoa Kahanamoku. Shop And Score Kickoff

Times Supermarkets and Kraft Foods in Hawaii recently kicked off the 10th annual Shop and Score program at Times Supermarket on Beretania Street. Cheerleaders from McKinley High School, basketball players from Saint Francis, and Kraft mascots Cheesasaurus Rex and Oreo Cookie Man joined in the fun while shoppers were invited to sample family-friendly recipes and snacks and participate in an Oreo stacking contest. Taking place now through Oct. 5, Shop and Score helps Hawaii’s public and private high schools earn a share of free Adidas uniforms and equipment.

Supporting The Foodbank And Lokahi

At the Aug. 13 Honolulu Country Club Foundation golf tournament, Tomio Takei, owner of Honolulu Country Club, led the way by donating $50,000 to Hawaii Foodbank and Lokahi Giving Project. The foundation has given $300,000 in total. Pictured are tournament chairman Danny Kaleikini, Tomio Takei and Mariellen Jones from Lokahi.
