HHOC Receives $10,000 Donation

The Hawaii HomeOwnership Center recently received a $10,000 donation from the Bank of Hawaii Charitable Foundation. The contribution will support HHOC’s financial education and counseling services to first-time home buyers regardless of income level. HHOC is supported by NeighborWorks America, a national nonprofit organization created by Congress in 1978 to provide financial assistance, research and training for community based revitalization efforts in all 50 states. Kiewit Gives $7,500 In Scholarships

Kiewit Building Group, a national contracting and engineering company committed to the betterment of communities in which it works, recently awarded scholarships totaling $7,500 to three local high school seniors. Selected from a pool of 30 applicants were scholarship winners (from left) Emily Valenzuela of Kalani High School, Kristin-Ashley Mitchell of Kamehameha Schools and Rylen Kuboyama of Mid-Pacific Institute, pictured with Lance Wilhelm, senior vice president of Kiewit Building Group.

Kapolei Rotary Coordinates Supply Drive

The Kapolei Rotary Club recently coordinated a school supply drive to support 15 public schools in West Oahu. Hawaii State Federal Credit Union participated by assisting with the collection of supplies at its Pearlridge and Kapolei branches. Items donated by credit union members included crayons, glue, rulers, pencils, backpacks, binder paper, folders, composition pads, markers and more.
