NACE Donates $750

Herbert Yamamoto, president of the National Association of Catering Executives (NACE) Hawaii Chapter (left), presents a $750 check to Deena Ahakuelo (center), Hawaii Meals on Wheels program manager, and Tami Hess, program assistant. The contribution represented a portion of the proceeds from “Tasty Travels,” a weeklong fundraising event held earlier this year involving more than 20 Oahu restaurants.

Hawaii Foodbank Receives $100K

The McInerny Foundation made a generous donation to the Hawaii Foodbank with a $100,000 check presentation to Dick Grimm, Hawaii Foodbank president (left), and Noel Trainor, Hawaii Foodbank first vice chair (second from left). Foundation representatives Peter Ho, Bank of Hawaii president (second from right), and Nate Smith, owner and partner of Smith Wong Projects, made the donation in response to the growing need for emergency food in Hawaii. The donation will help distribute 78,740 meals to the hungry in Hawaii.
