REAL Receives HMSA Ola Pono Award

Kathy Koga (left), Dr. Cheryl Albright, Deborah Zysman, Nicole Sutton, Brandon Antonius and Jennifer Pescador receive a $1,000 award for the Cancer Research Center of Hawaii’s Youth program “REAL: Hawaii Youth Movement Exposing the Tobacco Industry,” from the 2008 Ola Pono Awards by HMSA. The group was honored for promoting safe, healthy and drug-free lifestyles in Hawaii.

State Honors Sisters of St. Francis

State Sen. David Ige, Sister Frances Regis Hadano, Sister Agatha Perreira, state Sen. Suzanne Chun Oakland, Sister William Marie Eleniki, Sister Marie Jose Romano, Sister Norise Kaiser, state Sen. Roz Baker and state Sen.Will Espero came together at the state Senate chamber to honor the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities for 125 years of service in the state.
