Shriners Donate $16K To Hospital

Dr. Carl Scheer (left) accepts a check for $16,300 from Aloha Shriners Potentate Karvel Rose, Doug Fortner,Terry Derby and Richard Cho. The money was raised at the annual Aloha Shriners Golf Tournament and will go toward the new hospital building fund. The new, larger hospital should be completed in June 2010.

Queen’s Receives $5K Donation

Toby Martyn and Terri Okada of Bank of Hawaii present a $5,000 check to Art Ushijima, Darlena Chadwick and Sharlene Tsuda of The Queen’s Medical Center.The funds will go toward the Susan Kobayashi Project, which provides uplifting DVDs for chemotherapy patients to watch during treatment.
