Sixth-grader Wins Video Contest

Matthew Shimura (front), a sixth-grader at Punahou, was awarded $1,500 for his video submission, Promise of Justice, to the Aloha State Stories: Promise of Justice for All video contest. Shimura was recognized for his accomplishment by HSBA president Jeffrey Sia (center) at the Hawaii State Bar Association’s annual fundraiser, accompanied by parents Toni Shimura (left) and Sharon Webb (right).

Bankoh Donates $10K to Napuakea

Donna Tanoue (left) and Beulah Olanolan of Bank of Hawaii present a $10,000 check to John Howell of Easter Seals Hawaii to fund a multi-purpose, state-of-the-art training room at Napuakea. The facility is being built in Makakilo and will service individuals with disabilities or special needs.
