WELCOME to Kimo’s Vegas… The Players Edge!

John Mayer
John Mayer

John Mayer has just been added to the all-star line-up of Andre Agassi‘s Grand Slam for Children a benefit concert for at-risk youth. Look for Counting Crows, Phil Collins, Sarah McLachlan and many others on stage as well this Saturday at the MGM Grand Arena. Since its 1995 inception, the concert has raised more than $52 million.

In addition to the concert, there’s an on-line auction where you can bid on items such as Emeril’s Jazz Fest Jamboree that includes limo rides, a private jet and Emeril as your private chef; or a new kitchen designed by Dellacasa and cooking lessons from Paula Deen; or a VIP invitation to be Elton John‘s guest and hang with the stars at his Academy Awards Party; or a Mercedes CL550 (donated by the good folks at Fletcher Jones). And for the guy who has everything, six power lunches with Mark Cuban (Dallas Mavericks owner), Michael Milken (junk bondsman and financier), Cal Ripken, Jr. (retired Hall of Famer), David Foster (music mega-producer), Dan Snyder (Washington Redskins owner) and Ari Emanuel (Hollywood super agent). And to commemorate your time with the titans, a one of a kind custom-made time piece from Harry Winston. Get complete details on all the auctions at www.KimosVegas.com.

Prince is still hanging in Vegas - he showed up late one night at TAO, the club at the Venetian, and ordered 40 shots of Patron tequila. Would you say it’s his purpleness’s spirit of choice?

The iconic Playboy bunny logo will be illuminated permanently on the Palms’ new Fantasy Tower. The logo faces Las Vegas Boulevard and got turned on Oct. 5 to commemorate opening night of the Playboy Club. Did you know that the bunny logo has been incorporated in some manner in every photo of every cover of the magazine?

The MGM Mirage is merging the Mandalay One Club into the MGM Mirage Players Club - you’ve got until Dec. 31 to use any comp dollars or cash back on your old card.

This is Clint Holmes’ last week at Harrah’s… one of the many stars showing up to say aloha, local favorite Martin Nievera.

Xzibit plays the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay on Oct. 22 ... betcha someone says “Hey X, pimp ‘dis”!

The Freakling Brothers are the creators of Las Vegas’ premier haunted attractions. The three horrifying attractions are open through All Hallows Eve and include; CIRCUS OF HORRORS at Sunset Station Hotel & Casino; CASTLE VAMPIRE at Charleston Swap Meet and THE MORTUARY at United Artist Theater. I get chick-enskin jus’ thinking about it.

Over at Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum look for Freddy Krugger, Jason Voorhees and Leatherface (with his Texas chainsaw) to be roaming the halls looking for victims ... er guests.

Did you know that Hawaii’s minimum wage increases to $7.25 on Jan. 1? Meanwhile in the city that never sleeps, the lowest hourly wage remains at $5.15 an hour because the Nevada state minimum wage law says it must be equal to the federal minimum wage rate.
