THE TV show Dancing with the Stars makes a stop in Vegas with the stars from the first three seasons including Joey McIntyre (season one) partnering with season three’s Kym Johnson, season two winners Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke, Lisa Rinna and Louis Van Amstel, Joey Lawrence and Edyta Sliwinska (from season three), Willa Ford, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Harry Hamlin with Karina Smirnoff. Tickets for the Dec. 30 show are already going for crazy money on eBay ... maybe Uncle Tom Moffatt will hook us up with a Hawaii show!
The Pussycat Dolls are looking for a new
kitty
SPEAKING OF reality shows, The Pussycat Dolls will let you answer the musical question “Don’t cha wish you could be a Pussycat Doll like me?” The group will be searching the world for a new kitten for the litter. The winner will be a full member of the group, and not part of the Vegas troupe. The show will be on the CW network and auditions will be held soon.
THE SONY OPEN it ain’t ... The World Series of Golf reinvents amateur tournaments, combining the skill of golf with the savvy of poker, giving contestants a shot at $750,000 in prize money: 180 amateur players, buy in for $10,000 each (advance to the second round and your 10K is refunded). Before teeing off, players ante at each hole (like poker). The series will take place in May on the Tom Fazio-designed Primm Valley Golf Club and will be broadcast on KHON2. THE DENVER Nuggets’ Carmelo Anthony is the newest big-name resident of the W Residences. The deposit on his two-bedroom, 23rd-floor slice of desert paradise ... $1 million.
MAYOR OSCAR GOODMAN hosted the kick-off party for the NBA’s All Star Voting. Casting the first ballot, he voted for former UNLV player Shawn Marion of the Phoenix Suns. Officials are scouting sites for a possible $400 million arena just in case they get an NBA team. They’re even working on how the casinos will split the $10 million annual operating loss.
AFTER A two-year investigation, criminal charges have been brought against more than two dozen people and corporations in four states (including Nevada). The ring operated a billion-dollar-a-year gambling Web site that allowed bookies to place sports bets on a secure Internet site.
LADY LUCK fans will have to wait even longer for the troubled resort to reopen, and when it does it’ll have a new name to match its new insides.
