WELCOME to Kimo’s Vegas ... The Player’s Edge!

Pamela Anderson

CARMEN ELECTRA was to be the beauty of Hans Klok’s new magic show at Planet Hollywood, but after some rumored unlady-like temper tantrums during rehearsals and schedule conflicts (industry speak for “you’re fired”), Pamela Anderson is the shows new co-star. About her new multimil-lion-dollar gig, she said,“This is my dream of being a Vegas showgirl come true.” We’ll see who falls under whose spell ... The grand opening is schedule for June 2.

Paris Hilton
Paris Hilton

PARIS HILTON was doing the socialite thing dancing at Club 3121 when Prince invited her on stage. Ever happy to be in the spotlight, when she got on stage “The Artist Formerly Known As ...” handed her the microphone and said to the crowd,“Let’s see if she can really sing.” An angry Paris stomped off the stage. His gigs at the Rio are pau for now.

SPEAKING OF P Ho (the Las Vegas locals’ nickname for Planet Hollywood), it’s kinda sorta officially here, sort of. Bruce Willis hosted the “soft” opening of Planet Ho (the locals’ second-favorite nickname) earlier this month to show off the four years in the making and counting transformation. Look for the official opening in late September.

BOB’S ELDEST SON Ziggy Marley kicks off the Mandalay Bay’s Concert on the Beach Series May 19. Other performers scheduled to be on the beach are Styx (May 27), The Commodores (June 22), LeAnn Rimes (June 30), Pat Benatar (July 3), The Bangles (July 21), Blue October (Aug. 25) and Los Lonely Boys (Sept. 15).

MGM MIRAGE just announced a $160 million investment in Anthony Marnell’s M Resort. He’s no newcomer to this, having built the Mirage, Treasure Island, Bellagio and Wynn Las Vegas with Steve Wynn.

Takeru Kobayashi
Takeru Kobayashi

YOU’VE SEEN him before - Takeru Kobayashi, the skinny guy from Japan who’s won the Nathan’s Fourth of July Hot Dog eating contest five years in a row. His record is 53 1/2 hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes ... “Check please!”

IF YOU LIKE your food a little slower, perhaps the Bon Appétit magazine’s Culinary & Wine Focus is more to your taste. A plethora of the city’s best chefs will be slaving over stoves, creating special one-of-a-kind foodie experiences, including dinner hosted by Steve Wynn and (editor-in-chief)

Barbara Fairchild, lobster poolside at Caesars Palace, truffles to the music of John Legend and many other culinary delights. For complete info and tickets, visit us online at www.KimosVegas.com

SHOPPERS NOTE: The Fashion Outlets at Primm has announced a $140 million expansion, increasing the shopper’s heaven from 320,000 to 520,000 square feet (that means the ladies will need an extra two hours). Fortunately for the hubbies, Herbst Gaming has taken over the casinos Whiskey Pete’s, Buffalo Bills and Primm Valley, so we’ll still have someplace to amuse ourselves.

AND IF YOU weren’t one of the fortunate 3,000 who saw Gwen Stefani rock the grand opening of the Pearl at the Palms ... her “Sweet Escape Tour” hits the MGM Grand Garden Arena in June, and here at the Blaisdell for two nights in August.
