WELCOME to Kimo’s Vegas… The Player’s Edge!

Britney Spears
Britney Spears

On her way to Las Vegas, Britney Spears was pulled over by the California Highway Patrol. With lights and sirens ablaze the troubled pop star continued to speed away from the police for about a mile. When she finally pulled over she told them “I thought I was being chased by the paparazzi.”

The speeding Spears is scheduled to open The MTV Video Music Awards but producers are hedging their bets with Madonna and Justin Timberlake, just in case the singers lead foot or other antics make her a no show.

Las Vegas Metro says the three most dangerous intersections are Buffalo Drive and Warm Springs Road, Charleston and Decatur Boulevards and Tropicana Avenue and Koval Lane.

Tower envy: Steve Wynn held the title of the tallest tower on the strip with the Wynn Las Vegas standing at 614 feet. Then rival Donald Trump’s, recently completed Trump International topped out at 645 feet, making Steve the tinier of the two. Determined to be the “Big Man on the Strip” Steve Wynn’s Encore will be at least 8 feet taller than the Donald’s building. Not to be outdone Trump has announced he’s building another (perhaps taller) tower to compliment his first. If the saying “it’s how you use it” is true then the Wynn, the only Five Star & Five Diamond hotel in Las Vegas, is clearly the winner.

Legendary Boston Celtic coach and player Bill Russell is having an adult basketball fantasy camp at the Wynn Las Vegas starting Oct. 17. Participating in the camp are his legendary friends Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Charles Barkley, Clyde Drexler, Julius Erving, Jerry West, Magic Johnson and more. But all this NBA royalty don’t come cheap, the camp costs $15,000. To register get the link at www.KimosVegas.com.

The famous L.A. Playboy Mansion party “Midsummer Night Dream” has migrated to the Pool at the Palms. This year more than 2,000 dreamers paid up to $200 to party with (rapper) Nelly, (magician) Chris Angel, and (NBA players) LeBron James and Amare Stoudemire. If you’re planning on attending next year’s soiree, the dress code is “lingerie or less”.

Kimo’s Vegas stories:The $5,001 valet tip. Pro gambler, Randall Skaggs, left the World Series of Poker tossing two white chips to the valet. While he slept his girlfriend took his pants to the cleaners. Later he checked the cleaners thinking the $5,000 chip went with his trousers but no luck. A few days later the WSOP tournament director asked him about his huge tip. Seems the valet pool split the tip 20 ways and he’s been trying to get the Rio to give him back the money ever since. It’s not the first time he’s made this mistake - he once gave a waitress a $5,000 chip at the Horseshoe. She immediately brought it to his attention and he gave her $1,000 for her honesty.
