Penthouse Pet Prinzzess and Key Girls Teresa and Devon with Mayor Oscar Goodman

WELCOME to Kimo’s Vegas ... The Player’s Edge!

MAYOR OSCAR GOODMAN presented (October 2004) Penthouse Pet Prinzzess and The Penthouse Club Las Vegas Key Girls Teresa and Devon with The Key to the City, and they gave the mayor a key to the new Penthouse Club and invited him to stop by anytime ... I wonder if they know he’s only the mayor of Downtown.

IF THESE NAMES are a Pavlovian list for your salivary glands - Daniel Boulud, Tom Colicchio, Cat Cora, Michael Mina, Wolfgang Puck, Guy Savoy, Paul Bartolotta, Bradley and Bryan Ogden, Payard and Jean-Philippe Maury, Richard Sandoval, Julian Serrano, Kerry Simon, Alex Stratta and David Walzog - then you’ll wanna “go Vegas” May 8-11 when these all-star culinary wizards get together for “Vegas Uncork’d.” There are more than 25 events at places like Picasso, Le Cirque, Sensi, Restaurant Guy Savoy, Payard Patisserie and Bistro, Mesa Grill, Bradley Ogden, Rao’s, Alex, Daniel Boulud, Bartolotta, SW Steakhouse, Wing Lei and more. Get the complete details online at www.KimosVegas.com.

SOLE COLLECTORS are usually guys who collect athletic shoes, and one of the hobby’s most-anticipated releases is this year’s Air Jordan XX3. What makes these puppies so special is that Nike and Michael Jordan reinvented the modern-day sneaker 23 years ago (it’s now a $33 billion industry). Collectors are especially in a frenzy over these Air Jordans because they may be retired just like the jump man’s jersey number. Look for a special limited-edition shoe tomorrow (if you can find it) and the (regular) All Star release Feb. 16.

WE ALL KNOW the idiom “turnabout is fair play” and, ladies, here’s your excuse for a shoegasim: The World Shoe Association hosts the biggest shoe show in America. Imagine 1.3 million square feet of footwear from more than 1,000 exhibitors. Even if you can’t talk your way into the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Vegas retailers will be showing off the latest styles (with sale prices), so make reservations for your “shoepping” trip around the Feb. 21 convention.

ONLY CRAZY GIRLS need apply ... for the first time in the Crazy Horse Group’s history, auditions are being held in America March 3-6. Candidates must have formal training, be able to obtain a passport and have specific physical attributes. “Parlez vous Francais” not required, but you will need that certain “je ne sais quoi.” Get the scoops from Dick Foster Productions, (702) 334-4518.

ONE OF THE five annual displays in the Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens celebrates Chinese New Year. Guided by the art of feng shui, this year’s exhibit is filled with hidden meaning. Check out the 5-foot-tall rat (the first animal in the 12-year cycle), the 18-foot-tall Chinese god of wealth and fortune and other lucky symbols now through March 15.

MAY DAY, Las Vegas 2008 is happening once again at the Cal’s open parking lot. Look for Tony Conjugacion, Holunape, Kamau, Dennis Kamakahi and David Kamakahi on stage May 3 and 4. To join the growing list of vendors, get ahold of the show’s producer, KP, before the March 31 deadline… www.KimosVegas.com

AT THE CAL, Cora Saniatan of Waipahu won $2,259 on the slots, while Veronica Lazo of Waipahu won $6,000 from the video poker machines and Liane Ancheta of Lihue won $10,000 at the KENO room.
