William C. scores big on his birthday at the Hilton

WELCOME to Kimo’s Vegas… The Players Edge!

Congrats to William C. who won $1,713,561.96 while celebrating his 38th birthday at the Las Vegas Hilton. After 15 minutes and $59, the lady next to him said those words we all long to hear,“Excuse me, you’ve just won over a million dollars.”

Experts are predicting that based on current usage, Las Vegas may go dry by the year 2021. It’ll be a cold day in… you know where before the casinos let that happen.

After a 95-year ban, absinthe, the milky green liquor, made from herbs and wormwood is available now at the Luxor’s new center bar,Liquidity. For $300 a glass you can sample the beverage once favored by Parisian artists and writers for its mythical hallucinogenic properties… even if you were using the boss’expense account, would you want him telling your co-workers you had a “Green Fairy” in Vegas?

A VIP membership to the Penthouse Club Las Vegas will set you back $5,000… if you can expense it, a corporate card is only $10,000. For this kind of money you’d expect (and receive) a discrete entrance, complimentary admission, concierge and your first bottle on the house.

On the other hand if you love to drop the big bucks on eyewear by folks like Gucci, Prada, Dior and Versace at SCENE in the TI you’ll see shades and prescription frames that’ll cost more than your designer wallet.

Last year, the slot machines in Vegas won $8.4 billion compared to $4.4 billion from table players.

For the first time in four and a half years, we’ll be able to enjoy the illusions of Siegfried & Roy. The magical duo will be coming out of retirement next year to perform at the “Keep Memory Alive” Alzheimer’s fundraiser.

If you missed them at the Blaisdell, The Police have extended their North American tour adding a stop at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, May 23 at 8 p.m. The 30th anniversary reunion tour has been called the “Top Selling Tour of 2007” by Billboard Magazine.

The final number is not in… but MGM Executives are saying the bill for the fire at the Monte Carlo is around $100 million .That includes repairs, wages, lost revenue and other expenses. MGM Mirage senior vice president Alan Feldman said “almost every floor in the hotel tower had some type of water damage as a result of fighting the fire.” The hallway carpeting had to be replaced on some floors and some of the rooms on the 27tth to 32nd floors had to be stripped to the concrete.

If they let you gamble in international waters on a cruise ship, why not gamble when you’re in international air space? That’s what the Venetian & Palazzo owner and the third-richest man on the Forbes 500 has decided to let hi-rolling Chinese whales do. On VIP flights between Hong Kong and Las Vegas about 200 passengers will be waiting for the pilot to turn on the “unfasten your seat belt so you can lose your wallet” sign.

The Fremont slots were really good for Stephanie Bowes of Waimanalo ($1,195),Connie Valdez of Ewa Beach ($4,553), Reginia Gagalac of Wahiawa ($6,000) and Wilfred Centeio of Honolulu ($12,500).
