WELCOME to Kimo’s Vegas ... The Player’s Edge!

IT’S A PREMIERE, it’s a finale, it’s two shows in one ... NBC is canceling the TV show Las Vegas that stars Tom Selleck as the owner of the fictitious Vegas Monticito Resort. A DUBAI-BASED investment firm has bought 50 percent of The Light Group (a Las Vegas-based hospitality company). If you’ve heard of the Light Nightclub, FIX, Caramel, JET Nightclub, STACK, the Mist Nightclub, The Bank or the Harmon Hotel, then you’re familiar with their work. The company runs 10 lounges, restaurants and nightclubs and was recently nominated for eight World Club Awards, including “Best New Venue” for LAX.

NOW OPEN for your shopping pleasure ... Town Square Las Vegas. Near the airport, it’s an outdoor mall with something for everyone including Abercrombie & Fitch, Ann Taylor, A/X, bebe, The Feng Sui Store, Guitar Center, Tommy Bahama’s, and Fry’s, the largest electronics store this side of Akibahara.

WE’VE ALL HAD those moments when we wished we could get a bite and not leave the table or our favorite machine ... well, now “The Gambling Gourmet” comes to the rescue. The service is being offered at the El Cortez (Downtown), where your choice of appetizers, sandwiches, salads and burgers are delivered on a cart. Let’s hope the idea catches on at other casinos.

ELVIS PRESLEY Enterprises has filed for the U.S. trademarks “The Elvis Las Vegas” and “The E Las Vegas” ... bringing the possibility of a King-themed Vegas resort a little closer to reality.

CONGRATS TO American Casino and Entertainment Properties (ACEP), the new owner of the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino. It already has had positive impact on the only Strip casino that’s actually in the city of Las Vegas (the others are in the unincorporated townships of Paradise and Winchester).
