NICKEL MATH ...
It’s easy to figure out how much the jackpot on a dollar machine is because 1,000 coins equal $1,000.
Pennies can be almost as easy because you just move the decimal point to the left two places making a 1,000 coin jackpot equal to $10. But nickel machines can be a little confusing. The trick is to take half the jackpot, drop a zero and add a dollar sign. So half of a 2,500 coin jackpot is 1,250, dropping a zero gives you 125 then add a dollar sign making 2,500 nickels worth $125.
