WELCOME to Kim Vegas ... The Player’s Edge!

NBA HALL OF FAMER Charles Barkley has paid off his $400,000 in markers to the Wynn Las Vegas. In my last column, we explained how casino loans known as markers worked and I forgot to mention that when a civil suit is filed, the district attorney automatically adds a 10 percent fee to your debt. Sir Charles has promised to pay the DA’s office the $40,000 and give up gambling (for a little while).

BRING YOUR BEST game to the Orleans Arena and win a piece of the $100,000 prize money. The Ultimate 3-on-3 Basketball Challenge is happening Aug. 22-24, and everyone (not under a pro contract or college eligibility) can enter in the open: 20-something, 30-something, 40-something or even over 50 divisions. Register before Aug. 1, and your entry fee includes a comp room. www.HighStakesHoops.com

FANS OF The View will get to see hosts Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elizabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd film their favorite show in HD at Caesars Palace.

It’s been more than two years since the show was in Vegas, and executive producer Bill Geddie said, “We like to lose money and sleep in Las Vegas every year or two. For the first time, we will have Whoopi and Sherri with us. One (of the hosts) will be gambling, the other will be praying. I’ll let you figure out who’s who.” Co-host Joy Behar said, “I like to play blackjack and craps. It’s in my genes to gamble. My father had a beach chair in front of the OTB parlor. I said to him one day, “Daddy, OTB does not mean ‘On the Beach.’” Get the link to win a trip for two or to get tickets to the taping that begins June 23 at www.KimosVegas.com.

MGM GRAND has revealed the name of its new resort casino in CityCenter ... ARIA. The two curvilinear glass towers are scheduled to open in late 2009 and feature a three-story lobby, 4,004 guest rooms, $40 million in art, a luxurious spa (with 62 individual treatment rooms and three spa suites) and just about anything $8 billion can buy.

ARIA ALSO WILL be home to the Cirque du Soleil tribute to the King ... Elvis. The new production will feature a creative combination of live musicians and singers, projections, dance and (like its predecessors KA! and Love), the latest in multimedia sound and lighting technology.

NOT WANTING TO be left out of the game ... Station Casinos’ president Lorenzo Fertitta announced his company’s plan to build Las Vegas’ fourth mega-resort - the most expensive resort ever - for an estimated $10 billion. “Viva” (as in Las Vegas) will be built on 110 acres at the corner of West Tropicana Avenue and Dean Martin Drive, the location of the Wild Wild West casino.

SUMMER IS almost here ... the Vegas mercury is already hitting triple digits (100-plus degrees) in the shade!

DOIN’ SOME grillin’ this summer? Try out these tips from BOA Steakhouse’s regional chef de cuisine Jose Aléman: Grill firm and colorful fruits or veggies like strawberries, potatoes, corn or asparagus. For juicy fruits and veggies, brush them with your favorite basting sauce and listen for the sizzle to know when they are done. For a cool summer dessert, the chef recommends a simple recipe of a little honey, balsamic vinegar or chili powder added to grilled fruit served with vanilla ice cream.
