David Beckham: big spender

WELCOME TO Kimo’s Vegas ... The Player’s Edge!

LOS ANGELES GALAXY soccer star David Beckham, hubby of Posh Spice Victoria (does that make him a Spice Boy or is she a constellation?) was in town “el solo lobo” last week for countryman Rickie Hatton’s boxing match. His home-away-from-home was sure to put a dent in his AMEX: $25,000 a night, 10,000-square-foot Hardwood Suite at the Palms Casino Hotel.

THE HARD ROCK Hotel & Casino gets into the holiday season by dressing its female dealers and cocktail servers in sexy Santa suits. Naughty or nice? You be the judge. Thrifty elves should check out the gift shop and save 30 percent on all merchandise until Christmas.

NOW AT THE Silverton Casino Lodge, the only “Underwater Santa” in all of Las Vegas! Tell the man what you want for Christmas or chat with his mermaid helpers using the 117,000-gallon aquarium’s special communication link.

MAYOR OSCAR GOODMAN, Santa and helpers will hook up the lights on the Fremont Street Experience Dec. 9. The official Downtown tree-lighting ceremony starts at 6 p.m. on the 1st St. stage and will be followed by a Holiday on Ice performance.

ZZ Top is at The Joint Jan. 3

IF YOU’RE IN TOWN after Dec. 7, check out the city’s best holiday display at the Bellagio’s Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. See flying reindeer (made of whole pecans) and a family of snow-people (created from white carnations). Almost everything in the display is made from botanicals (flora and fauna). A 21-foot-tall wreath and a 32-foot Shasta fir highlight the annual Winter Wonderland.

Each year the display changes five times, and here is next year’s schedule: Chinese New Year: Jan. 11 to Feb. 28; Spring: March 8 to May 16; Summer: May 24 to Sept. 12; Fall: Sept. 20 to Nov. 29; and Holiday: Dec. 6 to Jan. 2, 2010.

JUST RELEASED and just in time for holiday Warrior fan gift-giving: Vacations Hawaii charter packages for the UH vs. UNLV game starting at $899. The three- to seven-day charters leave Hawaii Sept. 15, 16, 17 or 18 for the Sept. 19 game.

THE GOLDEN NUGGET is offering its lowest rate of the year ... $89 for three week-day nights (Sunday-Thursday) and $119 for two weekend nights (Saturday and Sunday). Call 1-800-634-3454 or visit the Golden Nugget online.

The Queen of Spades

ZZ TOP ROCKS “The Joint” in the Hard Rock Jan. 3 at 8 p.m. Tickets on sale now at the box office starting at $49.50.

OL’ BLUE EYES is back ... Opening at The Wynn’s Encore hotel casino, a new Italian restaurant called “Sinatra” named after the Chairman of the Board. Steve Wynn says it won’t be a museum, but it will have memorabilia on loan from the singer’s family and friends.

OPENING DEC. 11, another over-the-top eatery ... Viva McDonald’s. Promising to be like no other, it’s across the street from the Riviera. Bring your camera to the VIP (invite-only) event on Dec. 9, because you never know who’ll show up or be one of the first to get a Big Mac when the newest state-of-the-art Golden Arches opens.

THE QUEEN OF SPADES is not the only lady who can kick your butt in a poker game ... But didja ever notice she’s the only queen in the deck who’s armed?
