BRITNEY SPEARS is rumored to be kicking off the American leg of her “Circus” tour in Vegas ... As rumors go, we can expect it next month or maybe New Year’s Eve or sometime in May. Either way, let’s hope she’s a little luckier clowning around on her next trip. Isn’t that what we all want - to have more luck on our next trip to Vegas?

LAST SUNDAY there were two big stories on cheating in Internet Poker rooms ... 60 Minutes and the Washington Post both told of the hacking and cheating of players on the AbsolutePoker and UltimateBet site. Online poker sites are operated in places such as the Isle of Man, Costa Rica and Malta with little oversight from the licensing countries and are under no obligation to honor U.S. law. Sure as a full house beats a flush, with $18.4 billion in revenues last year, someone’s gonna get ripped off. Just like the old poker saying, “If after the first 20 minutes you don’t know who the sucker at the table is, it’s you.”

GUESS WHO’S COMING to dinner? ... Olympian Michael Phelps brought his BGF Caroline Pal home for Thanksgiving dinner - she’s a waitress at Moon night club in the Palms, Las Vegas. He’s been in town learning the finer points of poker from the pros and has publicly expressed his desire to compete in next year’s World Series of Poker ... a guy’s gotta have something to do between Olympics.
SPEAKING OF the games ... Members of the Canadian women’s biathlon team are hoping to fund their trip to the 2010 Olympics by taking off their Lycra and posing nude for a team calendar.
THE MEDIAN PRICE of all homes sold in Las Vegas was $196,000 in October, and that was down from $205,000 in September. In October 2007, the median was $279,790.

CONSTRUCTION ON THE Caesars Palace Octavius Tower continues. When it’s pau next year, the $1 billion expansion will have 665 new rooms, three pool villas and more.
SUITE DEAL ... You can book a room at the Rio All Suite for $45 a night (with some exceptions) now through Dec. 25, or buy two nights at the Signature at The MGM Grand, Luxor, New York, New York, Monte Carlo or Circus Circus and the third night is free.
