Jasmine Trias signed copies of
her new CD at Borders in Vegas

THAT WAS Jasmine Trias at Borders Books and Music (in Las Vegas) promoting her new CD Excuses.

ROBERT DENIRO, Quentin Tarantino, Jennifer Garner, Kelly Rippa, Eva Longoria and Tony Hawk have all designed a T-shirt to commemorate Kermit the Frog’s 50th birthday (Kermit’s like Don Ho and Dick Clark — he never ages). The one-of-a-kind collectibles can be seen at MAGIC (the clothing convention we talked about last week) and go on sale through Disney Auctions Aug. 29, with all proceeds going to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.

EX-HAWAII resident Jay Tapaoan and the rest of the We Will Rock You cast are celebrating their one-year anniversary at Paris Las Vegas Sept. 8. If you like rock music and Queen, you’ll love We Will Rock You. It’s loud, funny and a party on stage and in the audience. Robert De Niro owns the show, and Jay says he is nothing like the characters he plays in the movies (that’s comforting … I saw Hide and Seek).

SEPT. 8 is also the day that the Platinum Collection goes on sale on eBay. Billed as the finest collection of Nevada casino chips and tokens ever compiled, the 6,200-piece collection has never been sold before, and Mike Skelton, the president of the Casino Chip & Gaming Tokens Club, believes the set will go for $1 million. You can see the Platinum Collection on display at the Bellagio until the 8th or at www.chipsandtokens.com THE LAS VEGAS Paranormal Conference is happening at the Palace Station Hotel and Casino Oct. 2-4 (whoa … get chicken skin).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to HPU associate editor and ballplayer, Star-Bulletin contributor and Sports Radio 1420 promo guy Kyle Galdeira, spotted in Vegas doing the Hawaiian 21 tradition.

EXPEDIA adds the Palms Casino Resort to its list of 10 HIP Hotels around the world!

LOOK VERY carefully at the attractive young woman playing video poker next to you at the Wynn Las Vegas. It may be Christina Aguilera.

HIROSHIMA (the Hawaiian Electric theme song guys) appears Sept. 3 at Spring Mountain Ranch Park playing tunes from their latest CD Obon.

CELEB SPOTTING: The Las Vegas Hilton is the place to do some star gazing because it’s hosting the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon. Rita Rudner, Clint Holms, The Scintas and just about every star in Vegas is destined to stop by.

Anthony Torres is competing in
Spike TV ‘Ultimate Fighter 2’

CONGRATS TO local boy Anthony Torres, who is appearing in Spike TV’s Ultimate Fighter 2. He’ll compete against 17 other fighters to win the dream, the title of Ultimate Fighter and a contract worth more than $300,000. The show was filmed in Vegas and airs Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Torres is a Roosevelt state wrestling champion, two-time undefeated veteran of Icon Sport (Super Brawl) and a federal corrections officer. The entire season has been shot and Anthony’s not telling who wins (k-den, you try make him tell).
