Happy 63rd birthday to President Bill Clinton

PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON celebrated his 63rd birthday last week with buddies Terry McAuliffe (former Democratic national chairman), Haim Saban (Clinton contributor), Paul Begala (former Clinton adviser), and Steve Bing (Hollywood mogul who owned the jet Clinton borrowed for the North Korea rescue mission), in Vegas at Craftsteak in the MGM Grand.

KHOTAN, the “City of Jade,” is the newest fine-dining addition to the Treasure Island menu. In addition to entrees influenced by Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Indonesian cuisine, check out the largest display of jade and ivory antiquities in the United States. The collection is on loan from the private collection of the casino’s new owner, Phil Ruffin.


THE HOUSE that Jay Z built ... The 40-40 Club in the Palazzo is reopening as Lagasse’s Stadium, named after its new chef and owner, Emeril Lagasse. With more than 100 HD TVs, the 24,000-square-foot venue will have New Orleans-and American-style grinds.

JUST IN TIME for football season ... The Race & Sports Book at Bally’s reopens Aug. 26 with appearances by famous sports stars and prizes for you to win. Look for the stadium-styled book in Bally’s Avenue Shoppes.

JOINING THE growing list of high rollers who are trying to stiff Vegas casinos is Denver Broncos’LaMont Jordan. The NFL running back owes the Mirage $20,000 in markers (short-term credit granted by the casino) because they were returned as “unable to locate account” and “not sufficient funds.”
